James Plant finished both races at Silverstone in 5th in the 'Allard'. Built by John Plant partially using a Kougar chassis and partially his own . The car took 2500 man hours over 5 years and is a good old fashioned home built special. No modern trickery here just old school mechaincals. The engine an iron-block Chevy sounded glorious and James drove the car with great applom.
Richard Siffleet was giving his long term track car/road car its racing debut at Silverstone. His Lancia 037 has taken 18 years to build from its Lancia Montecarlo origins. Beautifully detailed and looking every inch the iconic homologation special group B rally car though set up for tarmac complete with Lancia Integrale turbo engine. Richard took things steady given the relatively soft suspension , unfamiliar track and not wanting any dramas to indeed complete both races despite a couple of spins.
Richard Wheeler from Chelmsford is a CSCC regular with a collection of cars including Lotus Evora , Lotus Elan and part of the Brisky Racing team that entered 5 Fiestas in the Tin Tops championship. Richard qualified the beautiful Nissan Skyline R32 9th and BTCC man Jake Hill was down as co-driver but an ECU was showing low oil pressure and the car wasnt risked for either race. Richard had only previously done 5 test laps at a damp Brands Hatch and was running low turbo boost to get aqainted to the car.
Prism Motorsport entered their beautifully prepared BMW E20 ( 3-Series ) twin-turbo 5.1 V8 . Clive Anderson from Cheshunt qualified the car in 13th and debuted in race 1 until an ECU fault began to effect the performance leading to retirement after 11 laps . The car has some very interesting aero features to help with airflow underneath the car. The car has been raced for 10 years but has evolved over the years with wider bodywork and is a credit to the team.
