In 2012 the Classic Sports Car Club launched it`s Special Saloons race series. In so doing it revived a whole genre of modified club racing that was once common in the UK but had been missing for too long. The cars involved were those from different strains of modified racing...70`s Super Saloons ( such as the iconic `Baby Bertha` Firenza , 80`s/90`s Thundersaloons , Modsports , Special GTs and a variety of other fascinating machinery. Most of the cars are unique and some havn`t been seen racing for decades so the series is a kind of timewarp for enthusiasts.

Season Finale at Thruxton September 21st
ENTRY LIST :
' We have previously turned away otherwise correct cars such as Mini’s and Imps running bike engines and Escort mk1s and 2s with Millington, Duratec and Honda S2000 engines alike, these can now be welcomed'
THRUXTON ENTRY :
Having kicked the season off at Thruxton the CSCC Special Saloons + Modsports go to Snetterton this saturday ( 15th ) for round 2. Although not on the original Snetterton programe, the season opener cancelled in March the Specials have been added in light of having their Cadwell and Brands Hatch rounds cancelled due to the lockdown.
Heading the entry is the one and only ex-Gerry Marshall 'Baby Bertha' Vauxhall of Joe Ward in which could well be the only public appeareance this year of this famous car. Talking of public appearences the event is the first CSCC round to have public tickets available, though please note these are advance tickets only and only for spectator viewing areas only due to ongoing restrictions.
